About the Tour
Not an Art History class…but quite close, in amore fun and easy way! If you have been to Florence already or if you just want to get a little deeper into the history of Renaissance in Florence this is the tour for you. Not only including the visit to the famous Galleria dell’Accademia, the Academy Gallery where the original David by Michelangelo has been hosted since 1893, but also a visit to one of the less known but still mesmerizing local museum: The Bargello. The Bargello was the main chief of Police and the Fortress called “Bargello” was first built in 1255 as the first political building in Florence, later transformed into the local police station and prison until the 18th century. Today is a National Museum that offers you a journey trough the renaissance in sculpture with works fo art of Donatello, Andrea del Verrocchio, Giambologna and a young Michelangelo. But not only. The Bargello’s unique collection was enlarged with private donations that included unique pieces of majolica, jewelry, moorish carpets and much more…a 360° journey that will live your eyes filled with beauty.

Galleria dell’Accademia

Bargello Museum
Located in an ancient palace built in 1255, the Bargello is a place rich in history and charm.
